Very soft addition to bedding. Im just praying it lasts me at least 3 years.. no smell and perfect soft even if u weight 280 lbs like my boyfriend he notices the difference he loves it too. People who gave a poor review neglected to read the instructions. I have bought and tried virtually every topper I can find, all the widths, materials (including latex--$$$), price points, etc., at many stores and have had to return or discard them all. This comforter is cheap and it really shows. This was a very good affordable solution for a terrible problem of poor sleep. Some of the zoned toppers may be able to do some help, but most relief requires good support from the mattress beneath (independent of the topper). We really love this topper. The first night I slept on this bad boy, I woke up feeling like a new woman; it's now been three months and I continue to fall asleep 10x faster, wake up feeling refreshed, and I don't look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame due to back pain. Second, I didn't have to air it out for months before I could tolerate the smell. This was very easy to put together. It doesn't even cover the whole mattress width! How do you use this thing? What I do is put it over the mattress; then a second, quilted topper on top (from warehouse that starts with a "C"); then my sheet; and that combination makes me pretty comfortable. I bought it because a cheap memory foam mattress I bought was sadly way too firm and I wanted to make it more comfortable. Bunches under a standard mattress pad. Its extremely comfortable and the foam helps had extra inches. It fully covered the mattress and a good fitted sheet flattened out the packing rolls. It has mad all the difference in the world!! When we realized we would need to use those beds for adults we ordered the foam. Works great and is super affordable. I tried the textured side, the other person tried the flat side.
