The meeting rooms are on the first floor and there are three rooms of differing sizes, all with good technology and flexible arrangements for tables and chairs. While Im still not convinced by baths in bedrooms, I liked this set-up where the bath is clearly in the bathroom area so you can have your privacy if you want (theres a curtain you can draw across) but its also perfectly romantic if you like to hop between the bed and the bath. An inclined Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben) has been modelled into a rocket taking off at an angle in the centre of reception, and there are multicoloured paintings of toasters on the pillars, while the lighting ranges from strip lighting to up lights, downlights, golden lights and chandeliers. Quirky decor, funky furniture with bare concrete ceilings and visible ducting, its not your usual high-end hotel for sure. Had really nice food from the all day dining menu, plus cocktails, and the breakfast was lovely too with lots of options available. As well as a lovely walk on the canals to Kings Cross or further on to Camden Town. The legs of the chair extend outward (longer than the seat), therefore it is easy to trip. The passionfruit martinis were excellent and set us up in good stead to head outside and check out the local nightlife. And you cant open a window, only air conditioner/ heating system which doesnt seem to work and makes the room so stuffy and dry. Love the light bulb moment. Some of the objects nod to the area there are jackets on wire mannequins above the reception designed by fashion students, and a model of the London Eye, but with items of fruit where normally there would be the viewing cars.
