Because they give out the venue to couples for an entire day, you cant book your rehearsal date until less than a month from your wedding. For some of the children, those might have been decent alternatives, but we also had a few toddlers who would NOT have been able to utilize those. The only ladder available was an extension ladder. When it became crunch time, it was as if no one worked there, which made my stress as a bride very high. All the best to you two! The wedding turned out just perfect! Highly recommend. If you are looking for a venue that is not only a great deal (this one includes SO much for a great price!) It was a pleasure to help with your day. While the venue itself is very nice, the staff is far f Hi Saydee, while we always strive to be transparent and clear in our communication, it is apparent that we fell short. When a friend called to ask about her lost sunglasses, the staff member informed her that the venue had hired temporary staff to clean up our decorations, and that they couldnt be responsible for personal items left. If you're looking for a stunning setting, great people/staff, and an affordable venue for your wedding, I would HIGHLY recommend Stone Mountain. The cabins are cute! Like many other couples planning to have a wedding this fall, due to COVID-19 we rescheduled our wedding to next May. You and Eric were such a joy to work with, and I'm so happy to hear everything went as you wanted! Delicate items were thrown into trash bags and left on the floor. We loved your day and laid-back style. We regret having our wedding at Stone Mountain lodge. Such an amazing venue! There is little to no communication. Thank you for the review and all of your kind words. The staff was very helpful, always answering my questions and willing to work with us on details. I highly recommend Stone Mountain Lodge!!!! Not only that, but this location is absolutely beautiful. staff did contact you and your mother back in regards to the damages that the property received as well as left messages and emails; however, would no longer be verbally abused. The room reservations for o We loved everything about Stone Mountain Lodge for our wedding. I also loved the bridal tent. Thank you Courtney! Just. Everyone loved the venue and are still commenting on it, months later! The only things Id say that anyone really needs to be aware of is that cell phones dont work up there. I love to help couples get the most out of our space and their day. Ashley was so unbelievably helpful and patient with everything we asked, she was amazing! We were concerned about road noise but from the tent/reception area with the band playing we couldn't hear a thing. Setting up for the wedding, we had a hard time getting help from the staff. ~Ashley. I literally have no complaints. Eventually, my now husband and I drove there to sit down with Carrie and get all my questions answered. Im pretty sure all the damage has been repaired by now and the grounds are a picturesque setting for a ceremony and reception. People still talk to me about how my wedding has been their favorite they've attended. It means so much to hear this and I look forward to your May wedding and helping you on the big day! The setting is beautiful, the trailhead for photos is such a sweet escape to just be with your new husband for a moment of quiet, and the separate spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception make the whole venue feel very grand. I fell in the love with Stone Mountain Lodge after my first visit and after my wedding I love it more. Take. They were so incredibly helpful, leading up the wedding and the day of, very professional and also fun. Hope to host a stay for you in the future! We worked with Ashley who is just wonderful! I'm glad you had such a fantastic wedding. I appreciated how they embraced our not-so traditional ideas for the wedding and helped us put them into action. Thank you for the review Malorie! No service for anyone. It did not. They were very nice and helpful! Thank you again Ashley for all you did for us! The bridal tent was nice and it does have an air conditioner. Thanks to Erika (our coordinator) for her professional and prompt attention before, during, and after the event. Thank you for all of the kind words. We did offer and let you have a free rehearsal the night before and there were staff members on site, as always, to close down the event at midnight according to contract that was signed and put in multiple places in the contract. We chose Stone Mtn. Not much less than $5000 is a little much for just renting the place for a day and that little bit of set up. I never had to worry about a thing because Ashley took care of everything and made sure we started on time. Warning though- there is no cell phone service there but I LOVED that! helping plan and execute every detail of our big day! Please stere clear of Stone Mountain Lodge, the price and location may be tempting, but I can promise you that dealing with the incompitent staff is not worth it. Service, such as answering questions and communication was really good until two months before th our wedding was great here, and we heard so many people say how much they loved it at SML! The communication leading up to the day was great and any questions or issues we had were answered immediately. STM offered a payment plan, which not a lot of places do, which we spread out over 8 months to make our dream wedding possible and more affordable. The accommodations are fairly modest, but some of the cabins are just adorable. And our guests totally loved the cocktail area. All in all, a beautiful and convenient place but they really need some help in the service area. Previous to the wedding, they told me I could have flower petals on my aisle and told me to clean them up the best I could after the ceremony. If that sounds like what you're looking for, I'd highly recommend checking out SML. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the location is stunning! This venue was just what we were looking for. The owners (new, as of 2016) went out of their way to help us create the vision we wanted, instead of trying to push us into a cookie cutter schedule the way some other venues do. ~Ashley. Another one of our friends keys also didn't work to her cabin and she ended up having to share with someone else. If you are getting married there, there is a hiking trail behind the facility that goes to the top of a hill and is a great spot for photos. What a picture perfect day we had at Stone Mountain. Carrie was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. They told me since I used the tablecloths I had to pay for them. Oh, and to top it off you pay for 5 star rooms and you get 1 star rooms. Carrie promised to purchase new lights and mail them to us. We knew we were taking a risk having an outdoor wedding in October, but Carrie set our mind at ease when we talked about an alternative plan, which luckily we didn't have to use. The next was a double charge for the room my husband and I stayed in. She was flexible and very communicative throughout the process. She also left without saying anything to anyone. When I went to find her to ask her what had happened, she shrugged and basically said shit happens. They can't sell alcohol there, so either the caterer has to serve it or you buy it before and have it brought, but you can't do a cash bar if you were hoping to (buying it from a liquor store before is a very cheap and great idea)! They even drive you, your spouse and photographer up the ridge in their at. We discovered the reason they were avoiding our calls and emails. She has a very laid back but fun personality and just being around her made me feel at ease. So nice to have fresh air and natural light while getting ready. My husband and I rented the entire property and were more than disappointed in the service provided. We didnt have to set them up or take them down and they looked great! Ashley put together our day of plan, and it went off without a hitch. Easy Front-range mountain location convenient to Boulder, Denver and Estes Park. Disaster & disappointment leading up to my wedding day, will not alter my review until they own up to their promises. The person handling the books wouldnt take responsibility for these mistakes and mostly just placed blame on us. Thank you and Mike for hosting at SML!! I preferred to deal with email but we never had a problem getting them on the phone if we needed to (because we looked up and wrote down their hours). They offered no assistance in finding new accommodations or consolation, not even an apology. Our wedding is scheduled for August, 2016 and we were really excited to have our wedding there. Everything from the staff to the views are absolutely beautiful! I'm glad to hear the two of you were happy with your choice, and we are so grateful for the opportunity you provided us. Theres a ton of ways to make this place a budget friendly venue or an everything-you-ever-wanted-that-money-can-buy venue. There was liquor left behind outdoors along with mess along the property. I would recommend booking all the lodge rooms and cabins for a good sized wedding as we did, as you will get all the privacy you could want. I had a great time at stone mountain the best part was that the staff knew exactly what to do and made my day at ease, down side it rained on my wedding but they still came up with another plan and kept watch for my day! If youre the sort of person who wants 5 star hotel amenities (like room service), maybe you should look elsewhere but if you like log cabins, theyre really nice. I'm so glad to hear how happy you are with how your day turned out. I would recommend Stone Mountain, but ONLY after asking all of hte important questions, reading the FINE PRINT on the contracts, and keeping as much open communication between the staff and yourself as possible in order to avoid disappointments. On the day of my wedding the girl who was supposed to be available for questions and to help us get everything set up had a family emergency and left the property. Scenic Ceremony location: mountains, pond, trees! The event coordinator seemed to be the only staff member available and had a lot on her plate. Never, ever would I suggest this garbage establishment to anyone, not even my worst enemy. he was gone and no one ever called to let me know the switch in management. I hope you and Jeff come back to visit! Our guests were happy and had a great time eating tacos and dancing! I look forward to running into you in the future. We should have asked more questions before we signed a contract. Sign up on The Knot to reach more couples and book more weddings! I enjoyed the casual yet elegant effect of the stone mountain lodge. Hope to see you and HK on another anniversary down the line! Thank you for all the compliments and you are very welcome! - Ashley. Overall the venue was just gorgeous. Yes, its a little out of the way and yes, if you look at reviews from a year ago, some of their facilities used to be damaged by the devastating Lyons flood BUT none of that was p Amazing! Overall we had a great wedding and the site itself is beautiful and reasonably priced. Come back and see us for an anniversary or two! Ashley and her husband Chris were the kindest people and so she was so hopeful Casey, I am so glad that you and Cody had such a wonderful experience on your wedding day. These guys were wonderful! The night of my wedding instead of enjoying my reception, they had my dad picking up every last petal and threatened to take my deposit because of the petals. A little disappointed but thanks to the beautiful grounds and weather the wedding was perfect. She set up all of the ceremony chairs by herself. Everyone was very helpful & made sure every detail was taken care of when needed. This place is truly amazing! o spend their time (playing games by the bar, dancing in the tent, feeding ducks at the pond, hanging out at tables outside the tent under tree cover and lights, etc.) Our wedding was beautiful but it could have been much easier. We had restaurant friends who offered their help. Stone Mountain lodge fits all of that perfectly! The only time I get a response is when the event planner needs something and if I try asking her anything other than then what she has for me she ignores me and doesn't respond whatsoever. Our expectations were exceeded and we could not be more happy with our choice of venue and the staff at Stone Mountain Lodge. The whole staff is wonderful and the property is gorgeous and very well kept and we couldn't imagine our day anywhere else! Rehearsal Dinners, Bridal Showers & Parties. We attended We recently had our wedding at Stone Mountain Lodge and we couldn't have asked for a better day! We used very little decorations at our reception because the inside of the tent is already so beautiful with the drapery and the lighting and the outdoor garden area and ceremony area are beautifully decorated by the venue and by nature. The best part the We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations. ay and not have to be rushed to get in and get out. The day of set up was very smooth. It was nothing like the website it was like staying at a motel. Answered ever question we had in a timely manner! I booked this venue last year in 2015 when it was under different management. I hung up the phone hysterically crying, how could someone be so cold? Thanks again for making our wedding day the best it could be! We wish you and Khael all the best. She was giving tours of the grounds to potential clients. Congrats! You can tell that they very much enjoy what they do, and really know what they are doing. ~Ashley. We made it work but it wasn't very safe. I wouldn't change anything about working with Stone Mountain. We just happened to pass by Stone Mountain Lodge and noticed how beautiful the property was. You have provided us an opportunity to grow that will We got married at Stone Mountain Lodge just a couple weeks ago and are still beaming with how perfect our day was. We highly recommend Stone Mountain Lodge to anyone who is looking for a wedding venue in the foothills. Separate garden area for cocktail hour and the bar! You can have every part of the wedding here so it makes the day easy. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful setting for our October wedding! The owner said there was no solution to it and they didn't know what to do. The preferred vendors we went with were incredible - particularly Kathryn Kim Photography and The Butcher and The Blonde food truck. Again, not 5 stars but the convenience of having rooms on location so no one has to drive after drinking is far more important to me than room service or an on-site gym (there is a pool however). The staff at Stone Mountain Lodge was always accommodating and helpful to us throughout the process and also to our guests during their stay at the cabins, almost a month after the event our guests still speak fondly of the staff. We had to keep revieing this with them about 5 different times as they kept telling our guests all the rooms were already taken care of. No one returns emails or phone calls. During the wedding our room was not ready prior to the wedding as promised so we had to each get ready in other people's rooms which was chaotic and awkward. a few of their bridal events where we were able to meet and hire both our caterer and florist. It was truly a pleasure to be there and a very memorable wedding for us. We were told a ladder would be available to hang lights. Take your money elsewhere and hopefully you'll have less stress planning your wedding than I am. When we came back a few days later (from Denver), the lights were still not down. I really felt like I was able to make this wedding just how I wanted it: no frills, just a beautiful celebration in a beautiful place with great people and food and drinks. I booked Stone Mountain for my wedding, and everything was going well until the event planner/manager I booked with left for another job. There is wireless internet but its a tad slow. You really dont need to decorate much since the property is so gorgeous. I didnt want anything for free, I just wanted the cabins I was promised when I first set the date for my wedding, even offered to pay full price. y - she put together a day-of timeline for us, made multiple different layouts for the venue when I changed my mind every couple days, was proactive in planning things I never thought of, coordinated layouts and timelines with other vendors, and was just so awesome to work with throughout the whole process. They double booked our cabin for the night before the wedding to another wedding party. When we got up there, they had ONE hose leading into the pool, which was Obviously not sufficient to fill it. She was helpful/organized/professional and made sure our big day went smoothly. I called and emailed them with venue questions for my vendors, without them getting back to me as well. help us with future clients. The cabins are definitly rustic, but I enjoy that type of feel. Extra "hidden" costs were tacked on at every opportunity. Gabbi did a great job with making sure everything was just the way I wanted it. She had a lot of useful information right up front which was really helpful to us as a newly engaged couple. She was not present during our ceremony rehearsal, which made her attempt at directing the ceremony procession inadequate. You and Angelo had such a beautiful wedding and I'm so glad you chose to host it with us! However we had numerous service issues through the pre planning, during the event and am still dealing with some afterwards. My dress zipper broke and Ashely was there helping smooth over the delay!! Ashley was Accommodating at every step, and provided us with key venue insights to make sure our plans wedding took full advantage of the location. This is a laid-back, beautiful place to have a wedding. The "event staff" were unprofessional. Carrie okayed this, but we kept running into licensing and insurance issues with the event coordinator. Also, the bridal tent was a great perk and we had so much fun getting ready! Thank you for making our dream wedding a reality. resent or an issue for us. We are so glad to hear that you and Kael were happy with the venue and our services. No accommodations for the amount of guests we specifically told them. Ashley, our coordinator, recommended the perfect catering company (Smoke Shack BBQ) that also supplied great staff members. There were items missing, broken and left outside. I would call multiple times a day and get no answer and I was lucky to get a call back in a day or two after leaving a message. Because they dont have a lot of people staying there outside of weddings, their office hours for phone calling is a bit more limited. We booked the entire venue for our 9/9/17 wedding. She put so much though and effort into making our day run seamlessl Jessica! What other choice did I have? It was a pleasure to work with you and Judd and see everything come together. I had to travel one hour and walk into their office in order to get my questions answered. The bridal party even had a super private tent to get ready in! At the end of the reception, the one staff member that was on site to close the tent up told my sister that although contractually we were supposed to have our stuff out of the tent by midnight, we could drive our cars down to the tent in the morning to pack up boxes of decorations, as long as it was before 9am. There was also no one in sight at th entire property for the entire wedding and no one even checked in with us when we arrived or went over anything with us or gave us any contact if we needed something. The ceremony site is gorgeous, and the reception area was perfect, especially how it is all within walking distance of the outdoor bar area (for games!) Thank you Jen! They just didnt seem to have a good grasp on what was going on. To get pictures of the mountain range! The scenery is gorgeous and pictures do not do it justice! From the start, Casey went above and beyond our expectations. istently misspelled my husbands name and even misspelled it on the blackboard that was out by the road despite us correcting them in the past. I am livid, how long were they going to wait to break the news? Thank you for your response. The ducks are the best! The general manager, who told me after the wedding that she was in the office until 4:30 that day, never came out to remedy the situation. It was a one-stop shop and that was awesome. I could go on about the headache this caused, but there is more to tell. My family ended staying elsewhere. You have to go back to the days of preplanning and make sure that people know how to get there (its very simple) because they cant call on the way.
