News, Club I would say the highlight holes come in the back nine mostly, my two favourites being the 16th, a very short but very well bunkered par 3 with a 3 tiered green,and the 18th which has two vast cross bunkers in driving range with a layup leaving a semi blind shot into the green. Thorney Lakes Golf Club is one of the most well-known and well respected golf courses in the area. Its not the longest course but with small traditional classic James Braid greens there is a trade off between hitting driver and leaving a shorter approach over laying back to hit fairway but leaving a longer iron into the greens. The course is not overly long but is fairly tight so accuracy is more important than distance.I found myself hitting hybrid off most tees to set up a shot into the greens, which are all quite small and have some tricky slopes if missed on the wrong side. Only 134 yards from the back tee, this little beauty is a fine example of how much fun a short par three can be. Its a test of golf for sure. I liked the variety of the short holes, the 2nd and 9th are mid to long iron shots, both protected by a combination of trees and bunkers. Having played several top courses this year including 4 within the English top 25 I can honestly say that Peterborough Milton GC has the best quality greens by some way!
