For over 20 years, Zarro has been teaching various levels of ballet, pointe, variations, and pas de deux at many schools across the country, including Loyola Marymount, University of Los Angeles, Luna Negra Dance Theater, Lou Conte Dance Studio, and The New Mexico Ballet Company. Prescott adds that students will also have the chance to participate in a weekly hootenanny, which he describes as a long-held touring tradition where a cast and crew of a show get together and put on a variety show for each other to highlight their many hidden talents. At the conclusion of each week, students will participate in an informal in-studio showing of material that was learned and rehearsed that week. After dancing in Robert Joffreys production of The Nutcracker, Zarro was asked to join The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, under the direction of Gerald Arpino. At one point in the week, they will go and see the show live. The wide variety of courses will give you a strong and versatile background, and at the end of the intensive youll rehearse with top choreographers and give a final performance at California State University, Northridge.
